Hi all I've had a good look through the site and I am confused (not difficult). Are the instructions on the site for reprogramming keys only for the d22 or for the d40 also? I have bought a key fob and blank spare +new battery and have tried the in out technique to no avail. Is my only option main dealer who wants to charge ÂŁ50. Any advice appreciated
Thanks

Do you have a D22 or a D40?
If you have purchased a key blank then you will need to get it cut.
Once cut you will need to get the fob programmed for your vehicle.
When I bought a new key & fob I got it programmed by a Nissan agent (after getting it cut FOC by a 'nice' Nissan man) - Cost about ÂŁ40.

Thought this was a good deal when going through a Nissan Dealer from scratch would have cost me ÂŁ150 or more.

Thanks mine is a d40 I have the key which I bought from eBay and have had it cut. It works opening the doors manually and turns the ignition but not the immobiliser and central locking my dealer has quoted ÂŁ50

One thing you could try. I purchased a new battery for one of my keys and when I went to use it, it didn't work 1st time. When I used my spare with the one with the new battery close to it, or the other way round, I found that the one with the new battery suddenly started working. Seemed as though one programmed the other.

Worth a try, before paying the dealer ÂŁ50.

If it's a new key the transponder will need programming onto the ecu so it turns off the immobiliser.

Unless you know someone who can access your ecu, the main dealer is your only option AFAIK..
