Hi guys , decided tae keep my navara .. Buts it's developed
A problem ... When it is ticking over at traffic lights or in traffic it'll go into limp mode .. Unless I keep the revs up ... My Nate recons the fuel pump .. But it runs fine any other time .... Any help would be appreciated ...

Regards Alec

Hi Alec

Your symptoms may be a failing suction control valve (SCV) however before spending the money on that it will be worth following a routine that has worked for others.

Try resetting the ECU and reading any fault codes.

If you get a fault code tell us what you get.

If you get no codes showing:

Fit a new fuel filter

Check or replace your air filter.

Clean the MAF.

Consider fitting a blank to your EGR valve.

Do another ECU reset.

As a last resort and if you continue to have issues you may have to replace the Suction Control Valve.

Good luck and keep us posted. :thumbright:

Hi a followed your advice and reset the ecu and the eml flashed 10 times fast 3 times then 10 times slow .. Took the truck bout fir a spin round the block and stopped n let it tick over .. It seemed ok but what can only describe as an intermittent misfire n the revs would die , drove on fir about 200 mtrs n stopped again and it done the same but this time the engine cut out ... Started it up and drove again for about 300 mtrs and stopped let it tick over and the miss fire seemed to stop and it doesn't go into limp mode anymore seems to be good ... Keep fingers crossed over the next week or so ..

Thanks very much

Alec

I think you've read the flashes slightly wrong but reckon that is a 0000 reading, so no faults recorded.

Try the other stuff and see how you get on, each stage of the process could fix the problem so work through the list in order.

I second the SCV resolution. I had the exact same symptoms with additional hunting revs when engine was cold. Engine would stall until warm and went into limp mode several times after sitting at lights etc. If limp mode returns then give these guys a call and they'll tell you which one you need http://www.dieseljones.co.uk/miscellane ... ol-valves/

I know of a few people that have removed the SCV cleaned it with some electrical cleaner and had that fix the problem, so if it reappears that could be worth a shot too before shelling out for a new one.
