Please Help!!

I have nissan navara D22. 2004. Had clutch and flywheel changed due to worn teeth on ring gear.
(Truck running fine before hand). Truck now has lost all power, will not go over 40 MPH.
No power in any gear. Sounds dog rough on tick over too. and blue smoke when driven.
Flywheel was second hand. But in good condition....Garage unsure
P.S this fault is intermittent. Not thought to be N.P.S or C.P.S........???????

If they've changed the flywheel did the take the crank sensor out before removing the gearbox? They have a tendancy to be damaged if not removed and that will cause you problems as the ECU can't read the engine timing/fueling correctly.

Replace the sensor and happy days

If all was well before hand and the NPS and CPS are ok then I'd say the flywheel is incorrectly positioned on the crank.
Did the garage mark and note the CPS pick-up position before removal so the replacement was positioned the same :?:
Failing that, if memory serves me correctly, there are two types of starter motors for these and each have a different number of teeth on them.
It would therefore follow a different number of teeth on the flywheel to suit
What year was the flywheel form :?:

Garage said its impossible to fit flywheel incorrectly due to locator pin.
I dont understand how it will work fine for a short period then default.
Seems to be electrical fault to me... Replacement flywheel was ordered with my car specs so have to assume D22 2004 solid state. looks identical too.

Actually it's a d23. Is there a different flywheel than that of d22 ?
D22's on 2001/02 year, dependant on manufacture date not registration date were different.

Thanks for advice, The garage are going to re check flywheel install, ill keep you posted ...
Please do :thumbleft: as this has happened before on D22, D23 and D40's because they all use the YD25 engine block  but I can't understand why it's running ok and then throws a fault  as I assume they disconected the wiring blocks and not cut them because they're a :censored: to release :dunno
It'll be interesting to see if the garage is honest enough to inform you of the 'real' cause of the fault :fingersx
