Hi All,
Just wanted to say hello. I'm an ex Hilux surfer (badly cracked block) and whilst trying to figure out what to go for next, stumbled on Navaras. Happily, found the community here as, although I'm a tinkerer, my lack of knowledge on Navaras could get me in deep do do. I've got about 8-9k to spend on one and really wanted to ask you guys what the upper limit to reasonable mileage is on, for instance, a 2007 model? I know it's a bit of a piece of string but looking for any pointers that you can offer.

Hi & welcome.

AS you say, it is a piece of string. A high mileage D40 Navara that has had the timing chain sorted with a Billcar upgrade, has been regularly serviced, has had the oil changed regularly (more regular than the service interval) and not spent all of its life in a quarry or pulling trains, should go on for a very high mileage. Some members on here are into the 200,000's.

07 and older navs have issues with the rear half shafts being soft and eventually leaking diff oil onto the drums. Getting a 1 year younger truck avoids big bills to swap the half shafts as I think the problem was fixed on the 08s
