Hi all

In another senior moment I have lost/misplaced one of my 2011 Navara keys. I do have a spare which I am using but the rate I lose keys, it probably wont last long... :happy0071

My local Timson keysmith can supply a non remote fob key for £50, which will work all locks and ignition but not remotely and I wondered if buying a complete fob off flebay, can I get it reprogrammed?
I must admit engines are fine with me, but key fobs and key programming is a black art.

Can anyone offer advise? I darent approach **** Turpin, [sorry my Nissan agent] as I dont have that much money in the world.

Thanks :?

You do not need a Nissan dealer to reprogramme it:

Just get in your vech , close all doors. Using your power lock switch , lock all doors. After doors are locked take your Ignition Key and insert it and remove it from ignition switch in a slow fashion , but consitant pace. (97 and earlyer are fast) When you see the hazzard lights flash, put key in ignition switch and turn to the On postion .. Do NOT CRANK or you will have to Start over .. After in the On postion .. Hit the Lock button on remote... Hazzard lights should flash..( note..you have to reprogram all remotes when adding a new one , if you don't your old remotes will not work ) If your doing just the one , turn igntion switch off and unlock door and get out and try it. If you are doing more than one. While still in Vech with Key on . After you hit the Lock button on Remote and hazzard light flashed .. with key still on .. use master lock switch unlock doors and relock and then hit Second Remote, Lights should flash again , repeat if adding a 3rd remote.. after done just turn key off and unlock door and get out and try. Good Luck

Thank you for that procedure but I am a little confused here. If I buy say this 121132892999 off fleabay, do I just get it cut and then operate your procedure?
Does that reprogram the key and the fob operation? and what happens to my remaining orginal remote key? Like the bit at the end "good luck" is this a foolproof procedure?
Thanks

Is this procedure for NATs or the central locking or both?.
Managed to get a genuine blank NATS key fob, and can get it cut locally for £10, but guess what, my local Nissan dealer wont prog it because they didnt supply it. A*******

How childish is that. Nissan at Kettering quoted me £225 for a new key. **** Turpin is alive and well guys. :wedgie

Its high time OFT trimmed these rip off charges down. Now if Nissan of Kettering had been sensible, they could have had all my servicing, but thats their loss. Clearly they have enough "pay up at gunpoint and roll over" customers not to worry about new ones.

Its a real shame we cant hold them to ransom as well. :study:

Is this for the NATS system does anyone know?
Also, the new 2 button fob isnt shown on the list of fobs, so is this procedure obsolete?

Cheers

Does the above procedure not work for you then?

Have now got the new key, cut and it starts and runs the engine fine.

Fob wont work the doors however.

Is that a separate programming operation, is that something we know how to do or has it got to be a dealer job?

Anyone know?

Cheers
