Just to add that im going to be using the Tekna for the school run, going to work (90 miles a day) and towing a twin axle caravan.
I hope that I qualify for my 2-off post so that I can get busy asking daft questions such as do I need the diff lock

What sort of age Tekna are you thinking of? A new one? I've got a 2016 Tekna, and love it. Sure, there are little niggles, but nothing that would put me off buying it again.

I'd disagree. Diff locks are useful when one wheel will leave the ground on rough terrain. Everywhere else there's traction control, which in the Nav is excellently-tuned for off road work.

If you use a diff lock while moving a van you'll really struggle to turn it.

(Introduced not as a new front on this oft-debated topic, but to possibly save some $ for a new buyer.)

On the diff lock debate, if it is available in your country it would be well worth finding one with one fitted.
Never available in the UK, but it is in the majority of other countries.
