Hi All
Just thought I'd introduce myself. Have had a 07 Navara Trek (yes, the cheap basic model) as a King Cab with Snugtop as a new replacement for a SWB Terrano. Done 170K miles since then working for a groundworks contractor in SE England and it is unlikely to be a Nissan next time. Here's the list of expensive work for those thinking of going down the same route.
aircon pipe rubs through - dealer not interested
clutch at 8000m - warranty job
front o/s wheelbearing - had to replace the whole hub assembly
fuel injection replaced because engine cuts out if revved a bit leaving you on the wrong side of the road during an overtake and suddenly finding it can't do more than 20mph!!
clutch again (along with flywheel).
propshaft.
doormirrors at ÂŁ200 each because you can't just replace the glass in the manual operated type.
now the ABS warning light has come on and it doesn't work in four wheel drive - just what I need with the snow at the moment - good job I have my own Defender to fall back on.
Most of this was in first 100K miles - since then its been OK except the new issue with ABS and FWD
Despite all that it's great on the road and loads of space both in the back and room to chuck all my clean kit in the back of the cab, although no one has wanted to sit there for more than five minutes. Not so good off-road on site as the steering binds up in four wheel drive - is this normal?
At least the engine has done well to last this long - perhaps that's next.
Hope I haven't put you off
regards
