God forbid you pride and joy's delivery date keeps getting put back as mine does :evil: and eventually you run out of patience and have to think about a competitors truck whih one would you go for?
For me i would be replacing a tekna connect auto double cab... so my chice would be.
Hilux Invincible horrible interior but good solid truck or l200 barbarian/walkinshaw the latter blo8dy expensive though.
Whats your ideas :oops:

If I had decided not to have another Navara my next choice was probably going to be a Ford, probably the 3l Wildtrak (no auto option though) Hilux would probably have been next on the list, like the look of the Hilux from the front but not from the side or back, and certainly dont like the look of the interior. Mate of mine has just changed from an Isuzu to a Navara and certainly rates the Navara above his Isuzu.
have you been given a new expected delivery date yet??

I dont think I would have a different pick up ( well maybe the v6 :roll: ) nothing seems to compare. I think I would have to look at an SUV type vehicle.

disco, landcruiser etc

When i changed my 07 i looked at most

Hilux = terible interior
L200 = terible exterior
Ranger= didn't like 2 tone/ bright colours etc of exterior
Isuzu= Very tempted(mainly because available that day, not 3 month wait), and although i liked the general look of it, i felt cramped inside, sat nav screen thingy to low and all reviews i saw said it was cheap materials/not as well made etc etc as the Nav.

I'd always wanted a D40 when i could afford it, and was so pleased with my 07 when finally bought one, even though i had to wait that 3 month period, i just didn't want anything else.

All very much IMO :thumbleft: :thumbleft:

I think we have all probably been in this position, but heres my 2p worth:

I looked at and test drove the

Hilux: Lovely looking, just couldn't live with the interior. Drives nice.

L200: Not bad looking until you walk around the back :pukel: , interior discusting, drives awful.

Isuzu: Nice looking exterior, but when I looked inside I couldn't even bring myself to drive it.

Ranger: Not bad looking, but again was put off by the interior. I couldn't find an auto either.

Navara: Lovely looking inside and out, the drive was far superior and it is the biggest in the class.

If I couldn't have the Nav, I would of gone for a Disco.... :thumbright:

Has gone from 22nd oct to the 6th of dec ordered 4th oct getting rather impatient now :censored:

I take it you have heard about the recall/problem with the vacuum pumps that is mainly responsible for the delay, rather than them just mucking you about? Still frustrating, I am still hoping to get mine by the end of the month!

Ready to get the scanning crate fitted and ready for action , and yes I had heard about pump!bean crunching substandard parts, doesn't boed well!!
Yeah crate is going to have to have a few more trips in the old truck (thankfully I am trading it in and didnt go and sell it private on the strength of getting my new one on time!) really need the new one by mid dec though or it will make the change over a bit stressful!

The Nav was actualy my second choice, originaly i was getting one of these, and i'm still hankering for one:

Anyway that's a different ball game, so as far as European trucks go the Nav is still the kiddy, and i hope it will continue to hold the title.

I think if i couldn't get another Nav, then i'd go for the Hilux but, the new Ford Ranger is a very respectable truck, especially the top end model with a 3.2ltr lump in it.

I have to be honest though, i've always liked the yanks :wink:

Can you get them with the steering wheel on the right side from new? Or do you have to have them converted? Or just drive it from the passengers seat? They do look the mutts nuts!

Did the dealer look at the trade in because knowing the meticulous way us farmers look after our vehicles he may have needed an odd spray of airfreshener in the cab :lol:
No they haven't seen it! Just had to fill in an online form, was VERY honest with it...........but there wasn't a question about how it smells! :bounce:

I was gonna buy a brand new one about 4 years ago, i think it was about ÂŁ32,000 + vat it was a left hooker, they offered me a pukka RHD conversion on it, a proper job no pulleys etc, they wanted ÂŁ8,000 + vast for the conversion :shock:

We had a debate on here a while ago, i've always believed they were only made in LHD, but somebody said there were some built in factory RHD, although i've never found any evidence of it?

I don't mind LHD, i've had left hookers in the past, just a bit awkward for overtaking though.

A guy near me has just bought an 06 SRT10, he knows i love em and keeps cruising past my house in it :lol:

You will have to invest in one of them stinger things the police use........that'll teach him!!

I am sure I have seen RHD Dodge's when I'm working in NZ, but never close enough to be sure or to find out if they had been converted. They definitely were selling RHD F-150's there a couple of years ago, I would have one of them........bit tight on the little back roads up here though.......feels bad enough in the Nav sometimes :pale:
