Random loss of throttle

Hi all, new on here! Hoping someone can help?

Purchased a 2005 Navara D40 2.5 diesel a couple of months ago and have an odd fault I can't work out! The throttle will completely stop responding at random times, sometimes straight after starting, others when been driving for 30 minutes.. Switch the car off and back on and it's fine (until next time).

Happened today and I had not even touched the pedal..

I have changed the fuel filter and checked all connections at the pedal. Checked the OBD codes and only had one relating to ABS which I have cleared and it has not returned.

It could be as simple as a failing potentiometer in the pedal.

Have you got an old adaptor that you can pair with your phone and see what the throttle position is in real time?

Yeah, I did check that and seems OK, but as it's random it may only fail every now and again.. Maybe try a replacement and see how that goes..

Some of the apps like torque have a logging function so you can record the values as you drive.

Well, it did it again as soon as I started it this morning, I checked while was running and could see on torque the throttle position was still reading correctly... This time it has registered a faul code P0652 so will look into this.. Strange thing is it hasn't done it again all day and usually does it a few times.

Low voltage at the power distribution module. It could still be the throttle sensor, first check should be the battery terminals.
