But you don't say what you have now, so it is hard to say whether the deal sounds ok....

I've seen a few RR sports that sort of year going for ÂŁ16,000, as usual depends on the condition i suppose.
I like the RR sports, i've thought about buying one myself, but as mentioned, you have to be prepared to keep shelling out even after you've bought it. They do drive lovely though, but considering what they cost new, i suppose they should do.

The trouble with buying an 06 model is i guess the warranty is out on it?, which is probably why the last owner has now sold it?

If it were me i know what id be doing mate, 23k for a soon to be 4 year old motor  and lets be fair LR products are hardly known for there reliability...the spending on them never ends..Just my 2p worth. You wont be gaining anything really other than getting your moneys worth from the AA

The RR sport is quite a lot better than some of those disasters from the 90's in terms of reliability.

Personally I dislike the Jag style cockpit with the huge centre console, the 20 to 23 mpg isn't so good either. On the plus side it is a nice looking motor with an up-market image.

Prices - looks about right. Even at this stage don't forget the depreciation on the RR will still be high, in 3 years time it will be 6 years old with ÂŁ400+ road tax and a high insurance group.

I too seriously thought about it when I bought my Navara. Don't discount the other choices, new Pathfinder? V10 VW Toureg of the same age?

In the Autotrader:

LAND ROVER RANGE ROVER SPORT 2.7 TDV6 HSE 5dr 57 plate 41000 miles… £14,585

LAND ROVER RANGE ROVER SPORT 4.2 V8 Supercharged 55 plate 31000 miles... ÂŁ16,795

As they say...........Go figure!

I had the RRS HSE for 3 years in fact its just gone back! i loved it as its abilities where awesome, it would go anywhere even with road tyres on, it just wafts down motorways and it was so comfortable, as said above though, it cost me a small fortune in that time, not with reliability issues but just running the thing!!!
