Am still on the first set but they are utterly shagged. There is a small amount of play in the right hand side which was an advisory on the mot. Whats most annoying is both have started to squeak, you can imagine what its like on a dirt track. i have been blasting super lube in which stops the squeaking for 3 days or so. When i whip one out to take to yorkshire bearing components am going to pick up 4 and spend a bit of time trying to seal them with something like what you have kranky but also try seal the underneath. Moly paste may work but dirt is still going to sit in the top and work its way in. They are a poor design

the big problem for trying to seal them is the top misalignment spacer as it moves around it would touch the cap I had designed and take it off...
I probably would need to machine the top spacer into something like the camburg UCA... no chance up until now and the dirtking UCA though they limit droop actually hold up very well...
cheers

This was a great read its just taken me 2 and half hours.
Its really give me some insperation to start modifying my d40 i really like the bar work looks brill do you ever get any bother from the police with having a metal front bumper and hard to read number plates due the there position?
moght come across as a daft question but what colour/shade blue are you using is it electric blue? And your bar work is that graphite?

The truck is looking fab well done!

Thanks Martin, I haven't had any bother with the police. Been stopped once since putting the bumper on. The coppers didn't mention the bumper wide wheels or number plates. He stopped me because a pickup had just been stolen in the area. I pulled the angled rear plate off somewhere so now have a rectangular one in the rear window where it's more out the way. I don't bother with a front plate, done 15000 mile this year so far with no issues. The blue is from halfords it was something like an intense blue. Halfords must have 4 names for vertically the same blue. And yes the bumpers graphite. Happy trucking!

Made a stainless disk to nip the gator onto the console. Its really not an easy shape to make. I put three cuts in each of the front two corners then tweaked the triangles into the right position welded it all up and sanded it back down. Is not perfect but its good enough for me

New boot on. I was a little disappointed they didn't have white writing but they were the last 4 in that size so just happy i got a set. I am also a little worried they might have too much grip, the tread is huge! A bit of heat gun work was needed on the arches as they scrubbed even with the 4-5 inch of lift i have on the front. The tyres stand 33.4 inches tall. Currently every thing works as it should which hasn't been the case for years :partycheer: After changing all the fluids it now runs sweet as a nut. Cleaned it up for some pics.

Your truck looks well Farma Rob. The tyres do look very serious! Where did you get the sliders from please?-I'm having trouble sourcing some from anywhere outside of Oz.
Do you have any more plans for the Nav or are you about done?

I got the sliders from luffman engineering. When i ordered mine he did say he had made a batch so hopefully will still have a set for you but this was getting on 2 years ago. I carnt remember how much they cost but they weren't expensive and they have lasted for me.

I have a couple of things in the pipe line, new disks and pads as mine are virtually metal on metal.

This chassis snapping thread seems to be all the rave at the minute and as i have no plans to sell the truck, i am probably going to make my own strengthening plates from near the centre of the rear wheel right under the cab. Nissan seem to have done a poor job on that entire area.

Lastly i may be getting krankybuluk's old rear bump stops if delivery isn't extortionate which will be sweet.:rockon

Thanks for the info. I'll try contacting Luffman today. I agree about the chassis snapping, it's worrying and definitely worth the strengthening work you are talking about. I stumbled across Rich's chassis strengthening plates on eBay the other day. I really do need to get myself a welder.
