I just got a 2010 d22 when I got it home I noticed that the block was covered in rust thinking that there shouldn't be rust on a brand new car. I took it back to my dealer who took photos and sent it to nissan austrlia after about a month with I was calling up twice a week nissan austrlia cone up with the answer that rust in a brand new car is perfectly normal. Also just noticed it has a fading dashboard and it's only 2 months old. And Nissan ausstralia dosnt care about that either

Another poor example of Nissan customer care and build quality in action!
Seems like it's the same sorry standard the world over!
Tends to put you off the brand?
It has me!!!!

Sounds like its been sitting around in the dock for a long time, and then registered as a new car. This happens alot and i know people who have worked in dockyards and some 'new' cars have been known to sit for 2 years+ before being registered...

Just down the road from me on what was the old NGTE Farnborough airfield (National Gas Turbine Establishment, where Frank Whittle developed the jet engine) recently stood about 600-1,000 brand new, unregistered Land Rovers all in off white.
They had been standing there for a hell of a long time 3-4 years, I think they were meant for Afghanistan, until the furore about them being easily destroyed by roadside bombs meant they were a poison chalice for the government.
Anyway they have all been removed in the last few weeks, so if you see one, brand new, going cheap beware.
