yes mate there is room, but why would you want to, another connection in the feed can reduce quality, Nissan Speaker wire wont be high grade so most speaker wire will surfice..

Just an update, I put the front speakers in over Christmas, about an hour including official tea break! My wire colours were different aswell - is there a trick to knowing which is plus and minus?

First impressions were great, a lot more clarity and depth. Not convinced I have them wired correctly though, they might be even better!! I put dynamat on both doors, not sure if it made a difference but it does make the doors sound "just like a golf" when you close them!

Hi Andy need some help on removing centre dash section as started on connect hard drive topic can you help thanks.

Hi Guys....I have just 'inherited' a 2010 Nav...to replace the old 150k 2008 one I have used for the past 2 years. The sound quality of the 08 Nav was fine...one of the best sounding i have had.

Now this 2010 model....the sound has no Bass!!!!.....was just about to to run off down Halfords to get some of those Infinitys when I remembered I put some rather expensive 6 b 9's in the wifes car a couple of years ago....will they fit? She wont even notice they are missing!

Should do, just be careful of the depth :bounce: :bounce:

Cheers...done it. No problem with depth but it sounds awful!

They are kenwood 4 way's RMS 80 watts.....still can't get any bass....I'm assuming they are rated to high for the head unit?

Looks like its off to Halfords to get the infinitys....

I also experimented with disconnecting the tweeters but the sound staging seemed better with them so I reconnected them and turned the treble down a bit.

The Infinity's sound very nice, and good bass :thumbleft:

Thought you might like to know, the 6x9 infinitys are on offer at Halfrauds for ÂŁ29.99 a pair - I collected some at luch today.

Looking at the pics from earlier in the thread I assume they are a direct replacement and only the rear speakers need the spacing rings?

6x9s direct fit. rears need the spacers.

Well that was the easiest mod I've ever done. Handed the keys to one of the lads and said "please fit these".

Sound is much better than the fatory fit but needs the balance of the rear upgrade I think, also need to disconnect the front tweeters and fiddle with some settings on the head unit.

Hi Andy

liked your research on upgrading speakers in a Nav, and decided to follow your lead. I have received the Infinity 6x9 front doors and also Infinity rear door. I also went for the Auna 10" Sub Woofer and was wondering have you fitted yours yet? I am not massive on car electrics and wondered are there any mobile fitters or car stereo shops that you know of to have em fitted. I live in Canterbury Kent but commute daily to Deptford in South London.
Appreciate your help mate if you know anyone.

Greetings all,
Been reading this post with great interest. Taking delivery of my new 2012 Navara ST-X Double Cab next week and looks like the first thing to do is the speaker upgrade, only problem is, I cant seem to find an Infinty distributer in NZ, any other 6x9's you could recommend?
Thanx
Dave

hi did similar sound upgrades but used alpines speakers instead of infinity similar price got the rear door spacers from local motabitz for ÂŁ8 plus underseat active sub with remote volume as a result have since gone deaf !!! but the clarity is awesome!!!!!!!!

Hi all. Got my Nav a couple of months ago and have so far foud this site very helpful!

My nav is the Platinum Edition which comes with a double DIN Clarion NX510E. A fantastic system however the speakers were dog poop.

I've bought these pioneer 6 x 9's for the front doors:

Managed to get them fitted over the weekend however the sound quality isn't any better, in fact I'd say its worse. Not 100% sure I've got the +'s and -'s the right way round! Is there a proper way of checking.
