Just got the Nav and the tailgate hits the rear step. Found a picture of another Nav and comparing it with mine something looks wrong.

I agree with Harp, yours does look like a D40 bumper and it looks OK there. That one on the silver D22 is just awful.:surprise:

I might be wrong but I believe a lot of D22's were sold without a rear bumper, so would assume both have been retrofitted at some point.

If it is a a D40 bumper, it was never designed to fit on the D22, so some fettling may be needed by possibly lengthening the mounting bolt holes to drop the bumper by 10mm lower.

That tow bar dont look right either
If you took away the retro fitted bumper the towbar would be stuck out about a foot! Surely thats too far ?
Id get it checked whilst i were checking the bumper mounts

Have a look in the garage (under the picture at the top of the page). There are a few views of the back of some D22s, some have a similar bumper to yours.

The D40 bumper is wider than the D22s so will have wide gaps at the sides where the bumper wraps around the bodywork.

Re Gavin's comment about the towbar, for the D22 that looks normal to me when compared to some others.

That silver pic looks like the truck has had a body lift and they haven't moved the bumper up to close the gap.

I am no expert but that looks like a thule one which bolts into rear of chassis via 6 or 8 bolts.

Sorted thanks, removed tow bar and rear bumper. Refitted bumper in the correct position, tow bar being powder coated.

Pity I can't powder coat the chassis :laugh2:

Always puddled me why nissan never started galvanising the chassis when they realised there was a reoccurring rust issue with it

Definitely needs fitting properly or stays shortened
