I have 2012 Nav and a Witter tow bar to fit. I want to run a tap through the threads first to clean them out as they are a little tight on the bolts. It looks like a metric fine 12mm?

Hey there. I installed my towbar a week ago into a 2013 Nav and simply used a slim wire brush with some CRC/WD40/Q20. Not sure what you call it over there? Worked a treat. I was also very concerned about threading but had zero issues after I ran the brush through all threads.

What i did.. The towing hook is already attached using the towbar holes on the left hand side. So effectively you have a couple of spare bolts. I hacksawed a couple of slots in the old bolts and used them as a tap.
