A Unimog would probably be a better bet for the crane.
Doubt Vosa would let us tow 6 ton here in the UK with a Nav.

I'm from Belgium and here it would be the same problem to get it street legal.

 

Getting it past VOSA would be your problem over here.

That's doubling the weight it can tow legally pretty much....

Doubt it would be taxed pretty high with a trailer over 4 ton.

 

I used to tow start 8 wheel volvo fm 12's (13 tonne's) with a Foutrack Independant. On 30.50/9.50/15 BFG A/T's Does that count for much

They comply with eu regs on most things,there type approval will be eu sanctioned id think

They are tighter on some stuff than the EU are,

 

Only a guess, but I would think there must be some specific swiss reason to spend huge amounts on a Navara as opposed to using a bog standard 7.5t small truck. Maybe someone will know.

 

Width and horsepower. Switzerland has crazy laws regarding width's of commercial vehicles. They also have crazy horsepower laws in the UK it's 6hp per tonnne minimum which goes back to the road traffic act 1968. Switzerland has a much larger requirement. In the 80's you could buy a F7 cabbed Volvo with like 400 horse for domestic operations.

 

I wonder what brake upgrades they have done to tow 6 tonne lol. Standard navara brakes are just about capable for towing 3 tonne.
