A friend contacted me a few days ago to help him to get his car to a garage as it was a non starter. I immediately said yes and thought I would use my solid tow bar and the Navara only to find the Navara doesn’t have any towing eyes at the rear and I, therefore, had to use a tow rope.
It does raise the question how would you tow another vehicle with a Navara even if you had a tow bar, which I have, but which is no good without a trailer, A bar or some such. So my question is, has anybody added a tow hook eye on to the back of a Navara if so how? I have found that there is a steel plate under the plastic step below the rear number plate and it looks as though it would be possible to fit an eye here after drilling a few holes and adapting the plastic step cover to enable it to fit over it. Can anybody see any reason why not e.g. is it strong enough, I would only anticipate towing car size/weight vehicles.
