There's a sub menu I was looking at on the Navs dash to see how many miles left to the next service and there's a TPMS menu but it only shows tyre position but no pressure's. Is this just are carry over menu from another Nissan model as I thought that the Navara didn't have TPMS. If it should have mine doesn't work.

I was under the impression that there was an EU/UK law brought in a few years back that meant all cars had to have TPMS. Or is it just that... cars only not commercial vehicles?

The proposed law was dropped if I remember right.
I too have had cars that used the ABS sensors to count and average out wheel rotations, and the system worked quite well, and once showed up a slow puncture before it was a big issue...

There is no TPMS fitted to the NP300 yet, unless Nissan snuck it in for the Series III without telling anyone.

In some jurisdictions, such as the USA right now and EU in the imminent future, it will be mandatory for all vehicles (not just passenger vehicles). In fact in the US, some commercial vehicles subject to Federal DOT oversight (those used in interstate commerce, such as big trucks) may have to retrofit them if not fitted from new.

When it comes in, you can expect new NP300s to use an ABS sensor-based system. Perhaps they will update older NP300s, perhaps not. Interesting the menu is already there...

I checked out that menu tonight and I think it's to set a mile based reminder rather than any kind of monitoring. I was driving at the time so didn't really play with it.

There must be a hidden menu somewhere that disables that, surely?
