Hi was wondering if someone could explain the workings of these cheap boost controllers that i have purchased off e-bay.
First of all i have installed a boost gauge, with vac and boost, i have connected this to inlet manifold, is this right? with boost controller not connected, im getting stock boost of 10psi, with controller connected and conservativly set im getting approx 14psi and a fantastic difference in performance, to much? not sure, but when it reaches 14-15psi i get a boy racer blow off sound which ive never heard before the sort of subaru dump valve sound, should this be happening? also there is a vent pipe that justs sits in engine bay off the controller, is this acting like a bleeder? the whole kit consists of: T piece check valve thing, 3 pipe conectors, controller with 2 connectors one is vent tube. any experience out there?
Also if ive got vac/ boost gauge on overrun or tickover why am i not reading minus ie vac, it stays at 0 and then just moves into boost as stated 15psi.
Many thanks for your advise. Aserv.

Hi guys thanks for you interest, now found out the blow off sound when geting to 15psi is from a strange contraption on top of inlet manifold no wires to it ,no tubes looks like a brass coloured mushroom, rang nissan main agent, they called it a inlet relief valve, yes so it is blowing off but nissan did not know what it was there for, mmm! great, would any one here on the forum know about this thing, and also do you think it could be safetly used as a dump valve?
Thanks
