already running quite a bit of aftermarket gear on the nav, now, just wondering (as soon as i shim out the fuel rail and sort the MAP currents out etc..) if i could get away with running a dte on the injectors as well as using the current rs tuning re-map? not on full whack as id imagine it would certainly damage the injectors but, how many of you think this is a possiblity before heading down the hybrid turbo road etc... what are your thoughts on this guys an gals? :afro:

I tryed it with my remap, but got quiet a bit of smoke on the higher settings... was okish on lower settings but did notice a very hot metal type smell from under the bonnet which turned out to be the turbo. It was getting a bit hot. took the dte back off and all was fine again.

The settings that the dte alters will already have been altered in your remap. i suposed if you got the map set up with the dte it may work well.....???

Then that's simple, bigger turbo hybrid or totally different type of turbo. Your not going to get all time power much more than you have. Your near on maxing out the standard turbo now.
you see i wouldnt say i am. the standard turbo according to garrett can safely handle upto 260-280 bhp at the wheels fluctuating between 18-24psi max (22 being optimum range). im not running anywhere near that, even with the methanol on. more like 225 max. even the standard injectors can run upto 280-300 hp maxed out.

think i might go the hybrid route tho, seems to be the most plausable option. not cheap at nearly a grand tho lol

Mario mate try it, i ran my nav with a remap plus a dte plus a tunit commonrail box for 50,000 happy miles. By the way the dte was map 1 + 20 and the tunit was setting 9 :afro:

If you want a set up mate i will sort you one out. Thing is stage 1 can be yours has I'm going stage two

I think your figures on the standard turbo safely handle are a bit out mate, the gt 2058 runs out of steam at just under 240hp at 24 psi.
you can run at 24 psi but the snail will have a very short life :thumbleft:

lol lucky B****** fine then, if heading for stage two im heading for the nos an hybrid haha. well, as soon as i actually have a positive balance back in the bank! hows that anti-cut still going? i did an ecu reset an im now back to the drawing board, keeps cutting under heavy acceleration and above 4k @ about 115. think thats going to have to be the next investment bud either tht or the other route we talked about. dnt 4get txt me them details though about tht box fella. speak soon

There's one thing to keep in mind on direct-injection diesel applications of nitrous:
We currently have no on-demand/nitrous activated switching available for different fuelling maps. So you'd have to adjust fuelling to run nitrous more or less fulltime at WOT. Which is less practical than conventional (petrol) on-demand switchable nitrous setups.

Exact problem i had with my remap, thought RS had sorted this issue  Pointless in having power that cant be used  Could still wind the nav upto its top end but had to keep the peddle just shy of wot, not much use when chasing a gti down the road
