pegasus sell a tailgate central locking kit, a few people do... as tucker says, as standard its the flimsy key thing...

I have the Nissan back, that is all wired in and that IS attached to central locking on key and door button, so I suppose it in theory keeps the back more secure. Side opening windows which are very handy can only open on a key - safety feature I suppose. Light also in the roof works with locking and opening.

With any luck my NP300 might arrive sometime this year...

I jest, it's imminent. When it finally does arrive I'll need a hardtop for it.

I have a few questions:
1) Does the tailgate lock with the central locking on the NP300? I ask because a Pegasus YouTube video I watched suggests it doesn't, and they have a length of angle aluminium that stops the lower tailgate opening until the hardtop is opened.
2) Does anyone have a truckman on an NP300? If so what are your thoughts?
3) I saw a roadranger for the previous navara, with remote (keyfob) pop out side windows. That would be ideal. Are they available anywhere?
3. Road Ranger Elite + has opening side windows! think they're on the remote, link below.

So the rear glass is locked using the central locking? And does it prevent the actual drop down tailgate from being opened when it's locked with the central locking?

Thanks. You have no idea how many different keywords I tried in Google, and that never came up. Looks lovely.
No problem. I've ordered the Elite unglazed. I just hope it looks as good as the picture.

I've seen 'real' pictures of them fitted to Rangers and Amaroks and they look good, the boy from upcountry said they're basically the same top adapted for the NP300.

I spoke to Truckman last week and they told me that by early May that expect to have caught up with the back orders delays and should be supplying off levels with relatively low lead times for delivery on the Grand - GLS & S-Series models will be following on later over the next few months.

The Road Ranger Elite Pro Plus tops look good but when I spoke to them, UpCountry 4x4 said the first NP300 ELITE Hardtops were arriving mid-May but most, if not all of the first units arriving will be allocated to pre-orders.

I keep coming back round to the Pegasus Avantgarde for features & look of the top but it's just the poor customer service reviews that I've read that are putting me off.......

:dunno

4x4at.com do the Aeroklas which seems to have good reviews in the D40 fitment. They also offer the 5% discount whiw hi and bring them in at around ÂŁ1400 inc. The also have central locking.

But then I've also heard things about 4x4at.com which make me worry service wise?

I can only answer question 1, no, the tailgate doesn't lock with the central locking. There is a flimsy key hidden inside the "key fob" which you have to take out - real after thought and to be honest, a bit rubbish. As suggested by my local dealer, I've had a stronger key cut, saves taking the plastic fob apart and hopefully will last.

I'm going to sound stupid here, so when the car is locked with the fob the tailgate can still be opened unless its been locked with a separate key?!?

The central locking fob or keyless buttons lock the cab only, not the tailgate. This has to be done the old fashion way with a key ...... A rubbish after thought by Nissan.

Yep, in theory the tail gate is still open, but the lock on the glass window prevents you from opening, although can't be as strong as proper "locking" the tail gate. As Tucker said, another crazy nissan thought process by the design team, too much saki?

That is amazing... I've visited 3 dealers so far to look at the np300 and a total of 4 visits to look at different ones and not one sales person has ever mentioned that 'feature' I've found a kit for ÂŁ79+vat to add it so I'll be buying that. I do feel at times I'm telling them about the car they are trying to sell me, as one yesterday tried to tell me that all models with the reversing camera had surround view! Still can't decide wether to push for a techna or go for nconnecta. I just think the leather will wear really badly. Anyway back to covers!

To be fair I had rhe same problem with N-Connecta VS Tekna. I ordered a N-Connecta then changed to a Tekna. I'd be perfectly happy with the N-Connecta in hindsight though. They are much more available too, my dealer said they can't give them away so have a backlog as everyone is going Tekna.

I'm pretty set between the Truckman and the Aeroklas from 4x4at.com now. Aeroklas is cheaper but do have good reviews.... I'm just a little concerned after reading quite a few dire reviews regarding 4x4at.com and customer service?

I have an aeroklass on my Ranger fitted (free) and supplied by 4x4at.com. Like the aeroklass as its pretty minimalist and I don't need central locking or internal lights and never bothered oozing the rear tail light up either. Think Insill be getting one for my NP300 arriving in the next two weeks. No problems this time round with customer service.

However, on my previous D40 I used them for a liner and hardtop. It was only on arriving home I realised they had scratched by 2 day old Navarra when fitting the hardtop no must have realised as it was on the tailgate lip but said nothing. It required me to go back have the top and liner removed and refunded and I negotiated compensation for the damage. It annoyed me every time I looked at that tailgate scratch!

Ok, so I think I've decided on a truckman..

Moving swiftly on to sliding beds, anyone have any experience? I'm ideally looking for something that doesn't have to be drilled and allows me to pull out my approx 200kg of tools/parts etc.
