Yep, Bin' and got it! 2014 Cat' D 2.5 Tekna, 67000. Needs a little TLC but sounds and drives nicely. Worst case scenario on paper-work, no history at all (same as my last one), but three months inclusive warranty from the garage that did the repair and specialises in Cat' D. At less than 10K I think I still got a bargain.
And of course I get to stay in the Nav'-Net club.

you did!

My pathfinder failed it's inspection yesterday and the dekra chap said not to drive it. Does this mean I will be offered vehicle hire payments and if so how can I get the full 14 days? Does it depend on how fast you accept the offer or is it just down to how quickly Nissan process the payment? Should I start to chase later this week or wait until they call me?

Thanks for any advice. Such a waste of great car.

Thanks.
I can use my wife's car (and have a bicycle) so can wait whilst trying to decide what to buy next (would help to know what I might be able to afford though).

So if I understand rightly I should accept straight away when they make telephone offer but not to return forms for 14 days after verbal offer. Is that right?

As long as you're content with their offer, don't be pushed into a corner you later regret, after all, NON of this mess is your fault.
Do your homework NOW, find out it's market value before they make their offer.

Thanks.

I don't think anybody has yet managed to get an increased offer from Nissan, so arguing won't help. Historically offers have been well above market value anyway.

Not sure about 14 days.

Not in the position to need an offer for my nav yet, but well above market value offer is not going to buy a replacement pick up ie toyota as there price for the same speck and age is well up there. What are people spending there Nissan money on to replace nav ?

Agreed, payouts so far have been decent, not that I have been involved, only going on reports back on here.
BUT, there is absolutely no reason why any owner should be forced to accept an undervalue offer, it can reasonably be expected for the value of affected vehicles to start dropping now that this corrosion fault is out in the open and they themselves get older, indeed there have been many comments on here about just how cheap D40's have become.

Mark 2 D40s are holding their prices and the older ones don't seem any cheaper. I bought a 2014 D40 as my replacement. As the offer is compensation, it is take ir or leave it. No point agonising about the rights or wrongs just be pleased you got more than market value. Remember Nissan could have done nothing at all to help. I had to scrape around to get the replacement but overall I'm happy with the outcome.

Thanks.

Nissan told me they take a Low/Med/High value from CAP and offer out at the high price. Another friend who lost his Truck to the same problem said they went up for a negotiation...

I'm waiting for a call back with an offer ....
