So I took my NP300 in to get a couple of niggles sorted.
1. very slow passenger window operation (guides lubricated)
2. when off/on throttle in slow moving traffic, very faint knock, intermittent fault, appeared to be coming form passenger foot well. (no fault found)
3. Adblue consumption (not filled up at PDI)

My courtesy vehicle was an identical NP300 Tekna atuo but it was WAY smoother than my vehicle, gear change was better as well as being less vibey. Getting back into my vehicle, I cant believe how bouncy it is compared to the courtesy vehicle (both are new). It's leading me to think that something else might not be quite right with my Nav?

Why was the courtesy NAV a much much smoother ride than mine? The only difference between them was the courtesy vehicle had a lok n roll cover on the back, where as my Nav has a soft tonneau.

Do newer NP300s have uprated rear coils (and maybe dampers?) or is it just the drivetrain you are saying is smoother?

I don't know about the suspension but the vehicle is going back tomorrow. One of the original issues (the intermittent knocking when on off throttle at pulling away/slow speeds) is now permanently there!
I'll try to explain. So I am in very slow moving traffic in "D" and I am on and off the throttle. As soon as there is load put on the vehicle there is a clunk/knock. It appears to be coming from the passenger side of the centre console at floor level, and can be felt though the passenger seat and then......... there is a millisecond delay and it can be heard on the rear of the vehicle.
Maybe not connected but the engine now sounds a bit rattly like a an old 2.0 ford pinto with bad tappets!!
I am sincerely hoping that this issue is not something serious.

Will try and post an update tomorrow after I have taken the Nissan Technician out for a ride.

Tekna Auto @ 2700 miles

I have a similar noise on mine. Most noticeable when I pull away then immediately ease off, as you would do in start-stop traffic. Only hear the knock when I ease off and quite faint, but passengers footwell area i'd say.

Would be interested to hear where you get to with this and whether there is an underlying issue.

Amy chance it could be so getting as simple as something rattling around in the glove box?

Nope - definite transmission sounding "knock". You can sort of feel it too. Does it at very slow speeds which wouldn't be sufficient to cause anything to move around in the glovebox (which is stuffed full anyway, so nothing can move in there!). Quite minor really and I'd not really thought much about it until I read the OPs post.

I have Just got back from Nissan.

I took "A" guy out for a test ride and straight away (hill start) "clink...clunk"! All I can add from yesterdays post is that it feels like there is too much play in something when pulling away, which starts at the front of the vehicle and as previously mentioned, a millisecond later can be heard at the rear. The Nissan guy said "Yep I can hear and feel that, its not right, Take this Nav Tekna ( same courtesy vehicle as before) and its yours until I get this sorted"

Can this be the prop shaft??

I have just had a 2017 Tekna Auto with delivery miles dropped at my office after my 2016 Tekna Auto engine has failed. Likely to be off the road for 8 weeks in total...

Even in the car park the engine sounded quieter than mine, I will update over the next day or so any differences I find between this one and mine... :wink2:

So... first thoughts of the 2017 truck compared to my 2016

IVE GOT A TEMPERATURE GAUGE!!!!!!! :grin2::grin2::grin2:
how can something so small make a difference to your day! :wink2:

Got thrown at the fuel pump, noticed the flap had changed sides to mine, oh wait, that's not for diesel! looked a right muppet :grin2:

Cant say I noticed anything about the ride, but engine certainly very different, I know mine has changed from having a rattle to a knock and is dead but this one does not rattle at all under load, nothing! I will certainly be comparing when mine is eventually returned...

Apart from it not having a bed cover I would be happy to keep it...

Anything else I notice I will post up...

So jealous... I had a little run in a 2017 with a temp gauge... So just out of interest, I thought the fuel was still on the passenger side and the adblu on the drivers but is that not the case?

yes absolutely as you describe, my MY2016 does not have adblue so I wasn't used to seeing the extra fuel flap, simply noticed one on the drivers side as I got in and assumed fuel filler had moved...

Guys, please keep things on topic. This thread is about comparing two NP300s of different age.

For assistance with slow windows etc, please use/create a relevant thread.

Thanks.

Bit of an update.

Again, I had to take another Nissan rep out for a test drive in my NAV. This time their master technician. Apparently he could not replicate the fault. So I hopped in the vehicle, started it up, hit D, put my foot on the accelerator pedal, let off and....... Clunk! "OH OK I head that, probably the prop shaft" the master technician replied. 2.5 hr round trip to show someone that. I have now covered more miles in the courtesy Nav than my own and still its much quieter, soooo much less bouncy and much smoother through the gears. I post another update when my vehicle returns.
