05 D22 radio problem

Hi Chaps,

I have a an 05 D22 single cab with a radio problem. It sometimes works it sometimes doesn't. The radio is always on but the sound just cuts out altogether.

I changed the head unit and that does the same. What else is there in the D22 to cause this, any known faults??

More than likely it's the speakers that have failed, the stock ones are known for it. Have a read of this if you're thinking of changing the speakers :thumbright:

How likely is it that they have both failed at the same time and both go on and off at the same time?

Either a speaker problem or lose connection/wire rubbed through to speakers, if any of the connections for the speakers hits earth when working it will cause all sound to stop.

I just had it with the driver's side speaker but changed both and haven't had a problem since :thumbright:
