Do you mean the doors open untill the outer skin touches the iner edge of the front wing?
If so then no that's definitely not normal!
 
Oh you mean how some cars have like a notch feeling half way that gives a little resistace but do open further if pushed a little harder?
To be honest id never noticed that my truck dosnt do that either! But since mine and yours dont do it, i guess its normal!

it's a pain, especially at carparks you gotta hang on to the door so it doesn't hit another car etc
 
It's normal gents.

They all do it.

I think one reason is to ease access to the front when the rear doors are open. Since unlike a normal saloon or five door car, the rear doors on a Nav must open to 90 degrees in order for rear passengers to access the vehicle with ease.

So if the driver or front passenger were accessing the vehicle at the same time as a rear passenger, the front doors open silly wide (half way notches aside) to allow driver/front passenger to jump in easy.
