So my 2016 Spanish built NP300 has a vinyl steering wheel that has lost its surface finish and looks very tacky , sooooo i think lets find a leather one from a Tekna .

So found a nice example from a 2019 model in the UK and had it shipped over to Spain [ not cheap ..!!] and then the problem started as my airbag does not fit as the wheel casting is completely different , it seems that the airbag [ held together with 4 studs ] mounting subassembly are different , now trying to find a later airbag mount so i can swap it [ its a plastic sleeve which clips onto the steering wheel ] to fit to my leather wheel ..

So does anyone have a blown 2019 airbag lurking around as i do not want to send the s/w back and the cost of a new bag is prohibitive [ my bag is perfect ] and i have yet to find one locally , have tried a few breakers/ repairers in the uk and they start spouting heath and safety **** ..!!

So be aware its another twist in the navara build saga , do not be caught out like me .

Useful advice.

It might have been easier to re-cover the steering wheel, hindsight being a wonderful thing!

Just had a word with Glyn Hopkins back in the UK , very helpful , but it seems that the s/w assembly only breaks down into 3 sections , the wheel , switch packs and airbag/crash padding ..the search will continue ..!!

Its would seem that the changeover was mid 2017 ..
