hi all
can anybody advise me on what is wrong with my Navara NP300,
I have just had a new clutch fitted, part of the problem was the revs we’re going up but the speed wasn’t In comparison.
the mechanic said there was an issue with the acceleration, no fault on his diagnostic check, he called Nissan and they said it was more likely the co2 sensor which he replaced and returned as it wasn’t the fault. I got him to change the fuel filter just in case of contaminated fuel. He gave it back saying to go to Nissan as he diagnose the problem. I have change the Mass air sensor and have had the faults reset and it is still the same. Can anyone advise

Hi,

I tack on to that thread because I have the exact same issue with one little difference - mine is an automatic.

Essentially the car goes fine through the gears but as soon as it reaches about 80kmh it does no longer take acceleration, actually slows down - can push the pedal to the floor and engine revs slow down. Release the pedal and softly re-apply and it goes again.

One thing that was done about a month before the symptoms - DPF was removed - cleaned and re-installed (done by a Diesel specialist - explained to me he got this liquid to soak it in and other stuff - he had the car for a whole weekend to soak the DPF).

There is one thing I did notice since that DPF change; it is a kind of “pop - pop - pop” sound - not regular sometimes in triples sometimes in doubles or singles …

Hi there, My np300 is an auto, it accelerates very slowly and then all of a sudden loads of power, it's very annoying because you have to put into overdrive every time you want power, if you don't it's really slow to respond but when it does its fine, if anybody has any ideas I would be grateful!!!!

A few suggestions...

How new is the fuel filter? Most diesel's including the NP300 are fussy about having a reasonably new one.

Check the turbo pipes for leaks. You can normally spot a leak by a tell tale oil stain.

Often injectors can get gummed up, so running some injector cleaner through the tank is never a bad idea.

Cleaning the mass airflow sensor with MAF cleaner would be advisable too.

Thanks man, will do these things and see how I go, much appreciated!!
