I have a 2018 Nissan Navara. The last time I filled the ad blue the 1st Adblue warning came up again really quickly even though the tank was still full. After a while I got used to ignoring it as I knew I had plenty. I have just refilled it and now I have the yellow warning which is counting down from 600 miles even though I know the tank is full! Does anyone know what would happen if the countdown gets to zero (even though there is plenty of Adblue in the tank)?

My husband has a Nissan Navara and has been having this problem for almost a year. He has took the car into the Nissan dealer numerous times and they couldn't find a fault, eventually they found it they said it was the adblue pump. They booked it in, only to have a phone call 2 hours later to say that it has 2 pumps and they only ordered one!! How can they not know it has 2 pumps. Anyway its now in getting them changed, so we shall see if this rectifies the problem.

Good luck with that, my 19 plate N-Guard at first service was found to be needing a new nearside rear driveshaft and a full set of rear brakes inc drums (oil leak I guess), that was two months back still no parts and I've since traded it in for New Navara Monday on the 12th :). Within the first 28 days and no fix date, I'd be warning them rejecting is your next step.
I’ve driven my Navara for nearly 3 months now so I think I can say it’s fixed 👍 On mine it was the adblue control module at fault , not sure if these can simply be reprogrammed or not but they chose to change the module. They had it for 8 days in total (including a weekend), which to be fair wasn’t that bad really. They gave me a brand new Nissan Juke to drive while it was being fixed, again not ideal but better than a kick in the teeth. 🤣 Given everything, I still think it’s brilliant, absolutely love it. 5 yr warranty is a big plus. A friend of mine has a Ford ranger wildtrak, it does 24 to the gallon if your lucky 😳 had all sorts of trouble with it, dealer damaging the paint when it went in under warranty for something else, now it’s out of warranty and it’s got another problem so he’s getting rid. They’ve stopped making the amarok and the merc is based on the navara, so what else is there?

Good evening all.

Adblue warning/me too. 2020 plate with 2.5k. Filled up to top and same warning next day.

So reading the posts above (grateful for all) I'm not sure whether to ignore and wait until 1st service, or call dealer (Exeter Nissan) with risk of lengthy impoundment looming.

Any further developments?

cheers. John.

hi, after my recent Nissan Dealer repair in the ad blue fault, the Nissan Tech told me that when the fault comes on the screen ( Ad Blue Fault ) 530-500 mls, the countdown has started in the vehicle computer, and the engine will stop and not restart unless programmed, Ive seen threads where the individuals say leave it.... not sure about that. There is a fault in the system Nissan know this but there is no quick fix, Denso the tank manufacturers are on it but no answer. While I waited for my 19 reg Tek auto to come back I do know they completely reprogrammed the vehicle so much so they had to teach the computer to run the vehicle again with a 1 hour test drive.. hope you sort it, but you must be firm ..

The dealer, I feel, is covering their backside......

Adblue is a Urea & deionised water, which is sprayed into the exhaust to reduce the Nitrous oxide emissions. It is required only to comply with the EU6 emissions standards.....

It is impossible that it would cause any long term damage to anything....

with the fault on screen it says you have 500 - 750 miles range left. no problem, if it was short range remaining I would get it sorted, but as the fault clears with a restart of the engine I just get it looked at when it goes in for a service later in the year (y)

Hi All,

I have had the same fault on my Navara Tekna on a 2020 plate, i returned it to the dealers who told me they had never herd of this fault, i had to leave it with them, later that day they told me theirs a fault with the add blue tank and the whole thing needs to be replaced, then they told me there is a 5 week lead time on ordering the new tank so its still in the dealers. its the 5 week today so i will phone them this afternoon for an update. if people want me to i will update this post as i here anything new.

Hi Andy, this was the outcome with mine too.... it’s been with the dealership for 4 weeks (part on back order story) but I am now being told that they have absolutely no idea when the part will be available (mutterings about maybe March!) so don’t hold your breath! My local dealership said this is a well known fault with the truck but they can’t understand why it’s not been resolved. It is causing me a world of pain and put me off ever buying another Nissan! Do keep us updated with yours.

The fault appeared then went, ive reported it to the Nissan Dealer, no answer.. my truck originally went in for a new tank ( 6 weeks) in shop, I hired a van after Nissan agreed to reimburse my outlay for insurance back in March, never had it !
When your driving and the ad blue fault appears on the screen its worrying, but as always youve bought the truck... I have emailed them saying if it happens again I will stop, park up and they can come get it under the 5 year warranty and breakdown, and Ill want a replacement vehicle while its in

Did you ever get to the bottom of this, mine has just popped up with the same warning. Only completed 1100 miles since new.
