Bed Rails Load Capacity

Howiya Lads.

Quick question for those that will entertain it.
The rails in the side of the bed of the jeep, what is the load capacity on them?
I was looking to put a cage up over the bed so that I could mount a roof tent on top.
But need to make sure that there is no issue fixing it to the side rails, as I want the full space in the bed to be able to load bikes in over the tail board.

All help appreciated.

I don't know what the capacity of the C channels are, especially on a Jeep. :slaphead

However they are light aluminium and designed to hold down loads in the bed so will not hold any great weight, (less than 25kg at a guess). I doubt very much whether they could carry the weight of a cage never mind a tent and sleeping bodies.

I think he's asking what can be loaded onto the side of the tub, rather than on the C channel rail system. I have no idea either way but I would imagine its not been designed to take a huge weight. Even a bulky hardtop would probably only be 120kg distributed evenly.

Yah, I was worried that would be the case and hearing it off some one else puts it to bed.
Onto the bed of the truck is the way to go so. Use the rails on the bottom as a fix point, stop it falling out.

Thanks dude.
