I found this on indonesian motor forum, down pipe for D40, the seller claims it will spool up the turbo faster, is it true guys?

Not yet ask for the price

I'd go for the downpipe even if you have a hollowed out stock cat housing.
Have a look at the diameter and radius of that first bend directly after the turbine flange on the stock housing (courtesy of (ex) forummember Sirnixalot). Horrible. It's an approx. 110-120degree bend, and it's less than 2" in diameter at the tightest point. Now compare that to the same bend on the downpipe in the opening post. Huge difference.

The factory dump pipe is still much bigger than the turbo exit is. If you're looking for a bottleneck I'm not convinced this is it.

Has anyone put a pressure gauge on the exhaust to find out what backpressure actually is?

The factory dump pipe starts out exactly as big as the turbine outlet, no problem in itself. But that first bend, about 70 degrees on the aftermarket dumppipe pictured by the OP, is much more extreme on the stock dumppipe. In part to create room in front of the firewall for the cat/dpf housing, of course, as well as to keep up EGT's for the cat, I suspect.
I don't know of someone who put an exhaust pressure gauge on the stocker, but I'm fairly sure that nearly all with an aftermarket DP report better performance in general. Me included.

Armchair tuning specialist having his say here  With the lowly mods being run here do you really think you will gain a difference, hald a hp if that  Then you have the dte system, set up for the standard engine, gut your air box, buy a decat, add a 3" diamiter exuast, move the air feed from the wheel arch to the grill and you may gain 1hp, i bet you lose more.

All those that have the tuning brain that i dont on here dont seem to have any dyno proof, so it may feel like 240BHP at the wheels, but you may as well say it feel like 300 at the wheels for the good it will do, the dte cobo and a new exuast and air filter will get you little over 200 bhp if lucky, and thats fly wheel, so those with decats and 3" systems are throwing money away :flower:

Buy a petrol engine if you are really in need of power, will work out a lot cheaper :thumbright: :cheers2:

heres my euro 4 down pipe after i decatted it.
