I am trying to replace the factory fitted audio unit of my 04 D22 and having a bit of trouble!
The FF unit is double DIN (actually, is really just two single DIN units bolted together) one is a radio/cassette head unit and the other a 6 CD changer.
The existing wiring consists of a bunch of wires connected to a large plug, and then a smaller bunch of wires connected to two smaller plugs in serial (consecutive) connection.
The larger plug fits into the rear of the radio cassette player. The first smaller plug also fits into another slot in the rear of the radio, and then the spur from that connects to the rear of the CD changer unit.
I have bought an ISO adaptor/harness from Ebay, which connects to the rear of my new headunit, and links up nicely with the larger of the existing plugs.
But there is no socket on the rear of the new unit for either of the two smaller plugs.
As things stand, the new headunit isn't working.
I've searched endlessly for wiring diagrams for a D22 2004 model, and found several (including some on this site) but none of them seem correct for the wires I have. For starters, none of the diagrams seem to show the wires going into the smaller plugs.
If it helps, the larger plug has 13 wires connected to it, the smaller plug has 4 wires. So there is a total of 17 wires in the dash, and just to make things a bit more confusing some of them have the same colour as each other.
Any advice appreciated. I can take a photo but i'm not sure how much that would help.
Thanks
T.
