A friend of mine was at a Nissan dealer so decided to pick up the new navara leaflet for me.
I was having a read through and on one page it showed a picture of the diff-lock switch next to a ESP switch on a silver background like the facelift model, and mentioned diff0lock for off road performance with the blurb in extreme conditions this option locks the rear differential
Two things here, I thought the diff lock switch was now near where the mirror controls are as the blank that used to be near the heated seat controls taken up by the ESP switch and the lock/unlock remains, secondly I didn't think the UK got a diff lock option even on the new models it certainly doesn't mention it on any of the model matrixes

Can anyone shed any light on either of these things?

also on the back page is listed the service intervals as 12,500 miles suggesting that was for all models anyone confirm this?

60 plate 190, no diff lock and service is 18k?

I think if at all the 12,500 service interval must have come in at euro 5 witch i belive has only just come out?
Does yours have the ESP off switch where the blank used to be?
are there any blanks around that could be for the dfflock switch? I belive its near where the mirror controls are??

Yes I have ESP switch by heated seat and 4wd buttons. Have a blank either side of the steering wheel, one between mirror and headlight adjusters and one where the engine warm button used to be.

Brochures of early D40's showed a diff lock switch, but many trucks never had the facility
Wasn't it actally an option on the very early ones though, just most dealers never knew? I have certainly seen some 05 and 55 plate D40s wtih locking diffs and the Nissan switch, wether there factory ones or not im not sure

I was wondering if they have reinstated that option

Not sure tbh Alex, it certainly seems like it was an option, although standard equipment in some countries. The Navara diff lock thing has always been surrounded by mystery

Well, considering they have removed the cup holders from the back seats to save money on the Euro 5, I doubt they would add in diff-lock. But as said, it could be an option in some regions.

It is one thing I feel could make the Navara a better truck. When I got my first Navara, I tried to put the NSF wheel up on a mound to take a photo, but was disappointed when I got cross-axled. Having said that, I have never gotten stuck anywhere for the want of diff-lock.
