well then I have to fix a killswitch, don't I  .

I'll just leave it like that for the moment  .

the timing of the inj pump wasn't retarded at all, it was advanced a little....at how many degrees, I do not know  so that can't be the fault.

only thing to do now, is to replace the injectors, don't know when though. and I think I have to service the startermotor too.

I got the slow cranking sorted, it was the starter motor.
I just replaced the old bearings, and it's good as new...or old  .
So even when starting in the morning, it starts just fine.
Now the only thing I got's to do is find a way to get the Tacho sorted.

Do I have to use the Terrano ECU and hook that up to the Sensor and Tacho meter???
any advice wise forum members :?: :?: :?: .

To be honest I don't know but suspect if you look at the wiring diagram for the main plug into the ECU on each of them it maybe as simple a swap of a terminal :study:
Woz
BTW nice to see you about here again.....thought you had fallen off the edge of the planet

Hi Woz :salute: .

Nope, I didn't fall off the edge of the planet, I just don't have any other probs with the pick-up :partycheer: .
So I kinda have nothing else to post. Anywho, I do come and visit the site very often.

oh yeah... I'm not that electrically handy, so I think I have to ask someone to do the wiring.

peace out WOZ :cheers2:

Hey Razle,

in my case I used a the trusty mechanical Injector pump. I too had the electric pump with the whole wiring loom of the terrano2 with ECU. but in my country there isn't anybody that wanted to swap the YD25 wiring loom out with the TD27t.
that's why I just put the mech. Pump.

about the witch center shaft to use, I can't remember witch :eek:ops . sorry about that.
it's been awhile. the long shaft is from the YD and the short from TD27 from memory. so I think you need the short one.

You could try to swap the YD ecu with the TD. I think I have the ECU layout on a PDF file. I'll search it for you if you like.

let me know :wavey

all in and running just a water pipe to remake need to know what you used other than that what mpg you getting glow plugs and every things all sorted heater works all warning lights i even moved the right hand mount when looking from the bonnet to the correct place (cut and re welded it back on ) easy conversion when you get your head round it.

any one doing it you use the terrano engine and box (use your yd25 transfer box) as it has the speedo sensor use your yd25 alternator and the terrano pas pump and starter but loose the aircon dont need it anyway

:partycheer:

R ace did you get your tacho working on the cps sensor if so whats the wires i need to connect :)

Well done razledazle :clappy:
Glad it's up and running with only a few little points to remedy :thumbleft:

Hey Guys, Hey Razle

have been kinda busy lately, but still around :thumbright:

Haven't got the Tacho sorted yet. let me know if you sorted it though.

Anyways Guys

I wish any and every one of you's a Happy New Year :cheers2:

If I don't return to the site this year.

Hi all, I have just converted a 2004 Navara to a TD25TI from a 99 D22. I had bought the 99 D22 dirt cheap as a fixer but it was too far gone. So, bought the 04 Nav with no engine and set about fitting the TD25.
I used the complete engine and gearbox as the bell housing on the Nav box is different but the rest of the gear and transfer boxes are identical. As expected, the engine and gearbox mounts lined up perfectly as both trucks were D22.
The standard exhaust downpipe fron the 99 fitted directly onto the 04 system.
I used the 99 radiator as the top hose on the 04 rad was at the wrong end.
The coolant temp sensor on the TD25 works perfectly with the 04 guage, the wire for this and the charge warning light just had to be extended to reach.
The glow plug system was a bit of a headache so I retrofitted a common glow relay and ran a pre wired LED from this up into the original glow light cavity in the instrument cluster.
The TD25 injector pump has the NATS immobiliser box on the shutoff solenoid, I simply smashed it off and ran an ignition live to the standard solenoid which sits enclosed within said box. The other solenoid on the pump doesn't appear to be needed and can be left alone.
I used the power steering pump and pipes from the TD25 as the 04 ones were different, but I retained the original 04 plastic reservoir, the feed pipe from this to the pump is a good fit. One of the metal steering pipes was slightly different and a 90 bend had to be straightened out to allow it to fit onto the steering box properly.
The TD25 EGR and the throttle butterfly were controlled by an ECU on the 99 truck, I have just blanked the EGR pipe and removed the disc from the throttle, this has not had any effect on performance.
The only thing I have to sort out now is the tacho, but I have a couple of ideas up my sleeve which I will try, and post the results.
The truck has been on the road for about 3 weeks now and seems to be fine....touch wood!

Hi Razzle, great news that your up and running, I'm in Ireland and have a ****** 05 Navara, looking to change the engine for a TD27 from a 96 Terrano, like yourself. What did you do about the pump and ECU, etc, Thanks in advance for your help. James

Hello All,

I am doing the same conversion to my D22, Its a QD32 non Turbo.

I plan on using back the 2 wheel Drive Gearbox which was mounted to the YD25. Someone had mentioned that I can use the QD32 Bell housing on the YD25 Gearbox and it should work, well it did not. The neck of the QD32 Bell housing is too small.

Is it that only the TD27 Gearbox bell housing can work? I am stuck right now, any help will be grateful.

Thanks in advance
