:eek:ops
Had the truck over in the farmers workshop yesterday afternoon and today, had the radio on for 4hrs yesterday then about 9hrs today...........never even considered that it would be close to blattening my fattery :slaphead But alas the fattery was indeed blat so had to give it w wee jump from one of them powerpack thingys and away it went. Took it for a quick spin to test out the bit that makes it go fast and the bits that make it stop quick, all seemed in order so returned home with a muckle pizza and filled my face :pork:

Hopefully my stupidity might stop someone else following suit!!

Did ya have your lights on auto maybe or an interior light left on?

Re: Dont leave your radio on for too long with the engine of

My truck needed a new battery after 18 months, found this out when camping and left a dvd on for the kids while we set up and packed away, turning the key resulted in a lot of clicking from the starter solinoid and a jump start from my trusty old Subaru Outback with 171,000 miles on the clock.

Nah no lights on, just the odd time when I opened the door to get something out. A few of the hours yesterday was with the cd player on, maybe that and the radio is too much for 14 hrs!

Did it not recover from the deep discharge??

No, it did it again a fortnight later so I binned the Nissan battery and put a Bosch S4 in it (for ÂŁ70 odd + vat if I remeber correctly)

The weight difference in the batterys was shocking, the original Nissan/Varta was much lighter than the Bosch, indicating less lead/electrolyte.

Cheers

probably covered under warranty, but our local dealer spent an 1 1/2 hours changing the front anti roll bar D bushes one day (about a 10 minute job) so I didn't bother wasting my time.

I Don't know if the Irish spec navara's get different batteries but im rather impressed by the 5 year old one in mine, I can use the radio for 7-8 hours along with numerous start ups and moving it 10 feet and have never seen it drained yet.

My previous truck (2008) never had a problem at all, maybe the later one has a cheaper battery.

Re: Dont leave your radio on for too long with the engine of

probably due to cost saving measures, it would be interesting to compare them.

Does the battery have a date on it? my mates clio died the other month and when i went to help him remove the battery i noticed the renault sticker and date on it was 2006, now on a 59 plate clio means they chucked on an old battery, needless to say they gave him a new one after i told him this! maybe they've put an older battery on your truck
