Hi all, looking for advice please! Just been informed by my vehicle service garage that my EGR Valve in my Nissan Navara D40 late 2011 model requires replacement at approx cost of $900. My question is, if I do the EGR block mod (yes I’m aware it is not legal), do I actually need to replace the EGR valve then? Does blocking it off mean it isn’t therefore doing anything anyway? Thanks in advance.

Blanking the EGR sometimes works. Certainly worth a try as a blanking plate is inexpensive. Not sure where you are and which dollars, but you can probably find a cheaper aftermarket replacement.
