Hi, my name is Spikes and I am joining from Denmark. I am driving a 2011 D40 3.5 ton Diesel with a camper cabin. I had from the get go a problem with the Fault Code P0380. About once a month the yellow engine light comes on. I got so sick of making appointments at the dealers that after 2 years I bought a code reader and just deleted the code myself instead of paying 15,00 bucks every time. I heard every excuse from glow plugs to parking at a bank parking lot sending a strong signal. Warranty is up now and the problem still exists. Sometimes I can drive for weeks and sometimes the light comes on several times a day when starting the engine. Does anyone have a similar experience? I appreciate any idea on how to fix this problem.

P0380 is the glow plug relay fault. Do you get power to the glow plugs? is it hard to start?

Thanks for the quick response. It was never hard to start even though dealers replaced glow plugs several time. Never solved the problem. I do have power on all glow plugs.

Can anyone recommend a good Maintenance Manual. There is a lot of material for down loading but you really don't know what you get.

It sounds like you have an electrical gremlin. If Nissan were aware of the problem while it was under warranty they should still honour that warranty and repair your truck. Try going back to your dealer and tell them they have failed to repair the fault.
