Hi all , I was out in my D22 last weekend when there was a flapping noise like a belt had split, then loss of power and massive bang! All this happened within 20-30 seconds
I am assuming this was the Conrod bolts? I haven`t had a chance to get the sump of yet after having it recovered.
I fear the worst!

When you say "loss of power" im assuming you mean the engine died? And not just lossed power?
Was it still running after the bang?

Hi ex911

Sounds like the same thing as I had last month but without out the bang....see thread "engine noise"

Mine was the number 4 conrod bearing...very warn...bottom bearing had got its self on to the top one.

When I bought mine I knew it had a problem you could hear the knocking, new short block and reground crank, rebuild an engine with mod bolts and oil pipe, sadly a year later, engine out again as the guys at Billcar told me a reground crank will eat bottom end bearings, get parts as per Chris on here's recommendation and Billcar will be very helpful.

Good luck and hope it's not to bad

Cheers

As a mod ive seen many recommendations for billcar over the years and although ive never dealt with them myself, ive never heard anyone have anything negative to say about them!
As such i would confidently suggest them to deal with any navara engine issues

Just like to say that the short block wasn't from Billcar it was from some dodgy b$!stÂŁ^d from upcountry somewhere that sounded good at the time but sadly I should have known better

Feel free to name and shame!

It's for the good of the Navara Nation!!
OK, it was a company called WM Engines, found them on a well-known sale site! Got to say I had to get the bank involved as I had paid and no engine until I threatened them with action, The engine was finally delivered but as I say it was a reground and badly done crank.
Funny enough they are no longer on Flea Bay and I was supposed to have a 1-year warranty but when I rang them to complain they no longer had that number. I was a little suspicious when I purchased the engine as the address they gave didn't exist and having called a company on the road they said I was the 20th person that had enquired

I wont buy anything off ebay that costs more than ÂŁ20 unless i can collect it myself!
It used to be a good site but over the years too many people have started selling junk thats no good for anything!

Not the first mention of WM Engines, supposedly a Birmingham based company selling through eBay.[/QUOTE

Just looked up a company that sounds very much like them again called fastfit auto centre and the address is actually for a house and I'm sure its the same name I spoke to about my engine, worst thing is there is actually a company called Fast Fit auto in Birmingham

That's the ones, the advert said you could collect but funny when you looked up the address it didn't exist, now looks like they call themselves fast fit auto center and again the address is a house, when you google map it and do a street view its just a house but there is actually a company called fast fit auto, as far as I can see nothing to do with them, b%$s"$d$
