Hi, I hope someone can shed some light on this issue. I have a 63 plate Nissan Navara Tekna with an ongoing glow plug related fault. Glow plug circuit A malfunction is what comes up on diagnostic. I have replaced the glow plugs and the relay and spent hours trying to find out what’s wrong but with little joy. I have seen numerous posts with this fault but no clear answer as to what causes it. Basically the glow plugs just won’t turn on so no starting it in the cold weather. My local garage had it for 6 weeks and came up empty. Thanks in advance

I assume the garage carried out some basic checks....

Are you getting power to the glow plug relay?
Are you getting a signal to the glow plug relay?
If yes, has the relay been checked?

If no, then have all the fuses been checked?

Do the glow plugs work if you apply 12v to each one?

There is power to everything and the relay is new as are the glow plugs. All fuses are fine. The garage have tried to activate the glow plugs and they just won’t come on. I’m thinking of getting the ecu checked next. Thanks for your reply.

Lack of grounding if the glow plug threads have been coated with ceramic paste.

Sounds like most of the bases have been covered.

Is the relay activating? If you turn the ignition on without the relay in, then plug the relay in it should click.

here's one for you all, see if anyone knows the issue with mine, 2007 d40 yd25 engine, engine light is on, code is glow plug, have no issues starting the car or driving it, unless you happen to stall on take off. once the car is stalled, start the car and shuts down almost instantly, does this upto 6 times, I cleared the codes to see if it was just a glitch, ran fine once it was cleared and deliberatly stalled the car , with it starting up straight away with a cough, after that the engine light came back on and back to square 1. again it starts fine on icy morning and seems to run fine, it's only if you stall the car, if it was only me driving the car, I'd just keep driving it, it's a workers vehicle and at the moment my workers are driving around in my 3 year old car I would like back. the nissan is an awesome car to drive , just the glitch that creates an issue if workers stall it at lights
