Just to bring this thread back to life mine after having all the filters changes sometimes feels like there is no boost at all it is just flat and will not pull just gently goes along no lights on dash turn off key and back on and all is fine again there is no smoke that i can see and it does feel as if the turbo is just not connected

Unlikely to be the boost control solenoid then. Have you got an obd adaptor so you can see the boost with your phone?
If not buy one! Pretty cheap on eBay or Amazon.
I would like to share the problem I had with the SCV. All the symptoms I had pointed to the valve and after I bought a new one and went to install it I discovered that my problem was not the valve but the tubing connecting to the valve was perished, mostly the ends closer to the engine cover. I replaced all 3 of them and everything was hunky-dory after that.

Thanks for reply's but it don't happen that often have had it once since i changed all the filter's so would be lucky to catch it happening and i have a iphone so more of a pain to get it sorted i have a reader but not sure it will work with my phone and torque app

Thanks for the write up. I'm hoping this this will fix the issue on the boost in my vehicle and stop the black smoking. As I've blocked off the egr valve as it was not working properly and I got bit of power back but now it's now producing enough boost.

Boost control solenoid help!

Hey guys, hope someone can help.
I took off the boost control solenoid to clean it to try and help with the major turbo whistle I was suffering.

Took it off, sprayed cleaner down the hole, dried it out and re-attached. But it doesn't feel right.
So hopefully someone can tell me if I've put it back together right?!

If I name the pipes 1-3 left to right

1) goes to turbo actuator
2) goes to air intake
3) goes across engine to vacuum pump

Is that right?
Did this fix the turbo whistle, I just replaced the turbo on mine to find the turbo whistle still there!!

hi guys, this might seem stupid but i can t find the boost soleniod on my 61 plate nav, i have taken the air filter box out and still cant see it. i have already bought a replacement so have something to reference against. is there another location for this other than low down near the turbo?
