Can any body help. I've read lots of post about peoples navs doing 25 -30 mpg in a manual, when I bought mine it was doing 17.5 then I reset the ecu so is now about the 20 mark but that is still very poor. It's a 07 reg so guessing a euro4, its unladen at mo and I've been driving gently, but it has a snugtop :( .

Been thinking about getting a dte if anyone has one for sale.

Thanks
Ray

I would not get a DTE until you sort our why the MPG is so low your just masking a problem otherwise, when was it last serviced?

Its a manual. Well I hope it was serviced 1k ago as that is what it said on the service book when I got it last week. Theres no rattling from the engine sounds good.... If that makes any differance.

Yeah sorry i should have read the title

That isn't good at all for a manual, although Rob (mowerman) gets around the same and his is manual. Could be any number of things, injectors, pump, ECU? :?

If you have only had your Navara for a week, you've hardly given it a chance to settle down to get a decent idea of its fuel consumption.

How many miles have you travelled with your truck and on what type of roads? Stop / start town driving can cause terrible fuel consumption. I only get about 22mpg when pootling about locally on our one track roads in my 07 manual.

If you are convinced the truck is using more fuel than it should it may be worth giving it a full service again. Just because your service book has been stamped doesn't mean it was done properly.

get the egr blanked. check your tyre pressures, check if the wheels are rotating freely, if not your brake may be binding.

To be fare I have only been using the onboard mpg so far. But even when I filled it up it only said 330 miles to tank. I do do alot of town driving so yeah stoppping and starting which doesnt help. I'm changing the filter for a panel k&n tomorra to I'll see if it has been changed recently.

Thanks outlaw I'll check the wheels. isnt the egr blanking only for auto?

EGR blanking is for both auto and manuals.
