Really depends on what equipment he has, axel stands, pit, ramp, manual tools, air tools and knowledge of the task :scratch:
If you've gone that far then it would REALLY stupid NOT to carry out the 'mod' wouldn't it, so then there is extra time involved on what you find :scratch:

billcar will do this for u and give u report on the shells if thay need to be changed then the cost of this work will come off the bill to have shells replaced

it took me 3 days,

that was with just axle stands and manual tools.
and doing everything by the book :study: or this forum. (thanks Chris Vince) :thumbright:

at 82000 miles the engine went, nissan fitted a brand new short engine and told me that this engine will definately not go the same way, its now done another 69000 miles and the headgasket has gone, at the moment im waiting for the head to be tested and skimmed, looks like for this repair im looking at a £800 -900 repair bill, was just wondering if to ignore what nissan have said and have the bearings checked before they put the engine back together.

Or another option is if its possible to fit a recon D40 engine to my D22, would that be a better long term option.

What I will say is that so far there has not been a single failure reported worldwide of a 'modded' engine :!: something Nissan cannot even wish to equal

I bought my Navara when it's second Nissan fitted engine had gone bang, so I wouldn't trust a word they say.
