The funny thing is I did a search for nissan navara faults and found the same article. This was after I had scared myself to death on here reading about all the failures not mentioned until I had purchased my new toy  What with back axles, clutches, blown engines, wheels falling off.and bad after sales service to boot.OMG what have I done?
Things can't be that grim :!:

well you see the thing is wether you buy a honda, bmw, mercedes, ford, toyota, mitsubishi in all honesty you dont have no gaurantee that the vehicle will last a liftime or give you the best value for money i know as i deal with both l200's and navara's aswell as other 4x4's that there are common faults on other 4x4's for example the l200's turbo's go ever so often the diesel pump ect on the the brighter side of it the d22 is still a good vehicle they made the d40 i havent had not a single d40 with a blown engine so far but i have had a few 2006 d.i.d l200 in for engines so if you look at it that way on the d40 you more then likely to have a longer engine life then a l200 as for the toyota's lets not even go there....... each person has there own opinion on what they want but the thing is if you notice that they complain about the vehicle but they still have it and still drive it  the l200 list of things that go wrong are endless endless

im not saying nissan is the best neither am i saying that everyone should buy a d40 but if you buying a vehicle dont just jump at the looks and comfort do your research on it first even though some dealers offer a good warranty , motor plan ect look for what best suits your fancy.

As they say, you pays yer money and you takes yer chances

I was very very unlucky by all accounts at what happened to my 07 D40, somebody at the engine plant apparently didn't do there job properly? which caused me no end of problems to say the least.

I am now getting a replacement truck 57 plate, and generally i'm quite happy at how Nissan and the dealer have dealt with things.
Although i'm very dissapointed to find that my after market wheels have been damaged, they only saw 400 miles, nobody wants to take responsability for this?, and i have to speak with them today.

I would suggest anybody buying anything, not just vehicles, if something goes wrong, go through the proper procedure, and as quickly as poss.

It's been said before, all companies get problems, it's how they sort them that determines how good they are.

Like i said generally i'm happy otherwise i wouldn't be getting a replacement, i did have the option of a refund.

Steve

The other thing is how many people bother to write when the item or whatever it is does its job. It maybe doesn't impress or stand out but just gets on with it. I have lots of items that impress or stand out but I don't tell the world about it. maybe I should :?:
I am pleased with my d40 outlaw it does what it says on the tin(up to now). My only complaint is I should of bought one years ago

"my other car is an Aston Martin"

OK Stuart from Derbyshire, shame your Nav goes only 6000 miles before you feel you must service it (although the first one's at 18000/24 months), even though your aston (yeh, right) does 8,000
Bet the Aston handles those hills and dales in Derbyshire better then your Nav too

From another website, the aston martin vanquish (for example) gets only 5 out of 10!
I've had a Vanquish for 10 months and it's ok, for a Aston-martin. The Vanquish's gear stick is my least favourite part of this vehicle. However, the Aston-martin Vanquish's performance is very good. I bought a new steering wheel however the guy I bought it off reimbursed me. Aston-martin always were my least favourite automobile and the Aston-martin Vanquish's catastrophic ride leaves me with no reason to think otherwise. One word for the Aston-martin Vanquish - awful.
ÂŁ180,000 for a car and "it's OK" and also it's got a good gear stick or **** gear stick depending on the review.
Some people

You will always here the bad stories of any make of car, or indeed any product.

Some people have been unlucky with their trucks.

There were a couple of re-calls on early models, and a few have been affected by prementure clutch problems (mine included). A couple of turbos have been known to be blown also.

Mine has been in for new bluetooth unit and clutch, both done under warranty. A heavy duty clutch is now been fitted as there were problems with the supplied flywheel or something. The same thing, is apparently affecting some VW's as they were supplied by the same people. I also had some mounting bolts for the gearbox working lose but were fixed by a mechanic friend.

My Aventura is used as a 4x4 most days of the week, and apart from the above and a few sqeeks and rattles (that you will get in any 4x4 used off road over time) hasnt missed a beat. Yet, some members trucks have done less miles and had an easier life but seem to have problem after problem but these seem to be in the minority.

If you get a good dealer then any problems they will be sorted quickly.
