so i've put a deposit down on a navara from japan...2007 aventura 25'000miles on the clock, black auto, leather, sat nav and the rest of the toys...
£7750 value of the car in this country £13079?? ish online valuation!

so will it be a nightmare to get the parts??

if i have a smash...will the panels be all the same??

is the build quality good over there??

it scored 9's on the export ratings?? haven't got a clue what they are!!

Am i being silly or is it worth the money....

Help please guys....thank you!

x2, it does sound a lot of money TBH. The D22 true Japs are a tw@t to get hold of but the D40, dunno really. All panels are the same BTW, mechanics wise, Woz maybe able to help you on that one, I'm not fully reconised with the 40.
Hope it works out for you, also have you took in to consideration the taxes? We where gonna import a 300ZX but after going through all the legalities, it was cheaper to buy a grey already in! Good luck

SVA? They are an actual importers that only import jap performance vehicles :? think they based in Dover. The other SVA is single vehicle approval but you will still need to get a british MOT cert for it after docking & taxes.

£13000  is that including vat (£10800 +) Just had a little look on auto trader if its a good as you say and all in for seven grand it may be a good buy after all

Good luck, I had a faultless 2007 Aventurer by the way

:thumbleft:

Ladyranger, hi there :)
I'm on a Subaru forum and imports are common but I'm NO Expert :|
These ratings as far as I'm aware are very tough and to get a 9 out of 10 is good. The down grade from 10 could be due to tyre depth or brake pad thickness :!:
Exported vehicles undergo a very tough examination to give a true and accurate examination of the vehicle prior to export so the buyer/importer knows what they are getting for their money :thumbleft:
If the TOTAL price of £7750 with ALL duties paid with ALL documentation valid to drive the vechicle on UK roads then YEP
The insurance companies will need to be told it's an import but that's about it.
Parts should be ok to be sought one way or another but it would be benifical to you to know where it was built as some body parts (arches, bumpers and lights) do differ.
Like I said I'm no expert but there are BIG savings to be made importing :thumbright:
Just my 2P

I have also found a few lower priced ones as above, but most have up around the 100k on them and one wouldn't start and drive!

This price includes everything, i've been told and if i don't like i can pull out anytime, my machanic chap will come with me to pick it up drive it back on trade plates and run it through an MOT, he's very confident that it's a good one so fingers crossed.

thanks for the info on the parts wozizname you seem to be telling me what i need to know, i don't have a problem with imports but alot do, i'm hoping to pop my private plates too, but need to look in to that.

I got an online valuation with that milage, but the main of that age in good condition are up round the 13000 so hoping he's found me a good bargain at £7750,

but hey as this will now be my new home for me a the navara, i will pop some pic's on my profile when it has settled in and you can give me you opinion too.....just hope it's not like my p38 range rover where i have more pic of it being on the back of a recovery truck than on the ground!!!

Think this may be the longest six weeks of my life, and getting excited now :partycheer:
