hey all, just wondering if anyone has ever heard of anything like this...

i have a 2006 navara d22 and everytime i wash it, or once the front end gets wet, even in heavy rain, a strange knocking noise comes from the front left whenever i turn. it never happens when it is dry, once when its wet. i had it serviced recently and the mechanic heard it after he washed and drove it, however he took a quick look at the suspension and said everything looks fine.

has anyone ever heard of anything like this? and do you know if it would be expensive to fix

Worth checking the steering stops to begin with,do a search on the forum and you will find all the info needed :thumbright:

the steering stops are actually worn out, but the noise doesnt only occur on full lock, even with a slight turn i would hear the knock. Also, if i accelerate hard i also hear the knock which is why i thought it might be the suspension, since it seems to happen when the load on the front changes slightly.... i guess i will have to take it back to the mechanics to take another look

Check that the gearbox cross-member and front diff carrier bolts very tight :!:
Had this on mine and gave a knocking when the chassis flexed accelerating/ de-accelerating or when turning.
