Will be interesting what the outcome is, knowing the ***** nissan customer care dont hold your breath

GD1,
Any luck with Nissan tech guy?
I'm getting about 25 mpg around town and about 28-29 on a run. To be honest I didn't believe the 30 mpg claims from Nissan but 20 mpg is awfull. I wonder if the EGR valve is playing up already...

Juste read this thread. I have had my V^ for about 3 months now, and I have the same issues with my auto. It is very sluggish, slow to change and when "cruising" at 40mph, it cannot make its mind up what gear to be in and wanders between two !!! Fuel economy if I am V V V carefull is 27mpg...normal driving very low 20s. Also, when I start it in the morning, it sounds like a box of nails rattling around, once I rev it a bit, or after about 20 secs, it suddenly smothens out...
So, apart from the gear box, bad MPG, noisey engine, I like the truck...would I get another one, I doubt it. Wish I had saved my money and got a 190 Tekna....

You would like to think so. Do you think the gearboxes are set up to take into account heavy loads and towing and that is why there is such a difference.
It would be interesting to see if the Pathy V6 is the same?

By the sounds of it they're not setup for much of anything at all. I would imagine the Pathy is the same, they seem to share everything else.

To be fair the box is great above 40mph, ice smoooth and you don't even notice it shifting. It's from 25-40 mph where it can be annoying. Seems to shift 3rd to 4th at 29 mph and back down (4th to 3rd) at exactly the same speed i.e. no everlap between 3rd and 4th. Same with 4th to 5th at 40 mph. This means round town it is anywhere between 3rd, 4th and 5th depending on traffic speed. When it's warmed up it changes up to 4th earlier and isn't so keen to downshift, which is better.
I'd have prefered a mode switch, with settings like normal, towing and sport rather than this 'adaptive' business.
A re-map of the control algorithms would sort it out, but who's going to do that for such a low volume product....

At 3750 miles the engine is starting to loosen up nicely, bags of torque and smoooooth. Had an oil change at 1800 miles just to get rid of any **** that might have been floating around.
It's in a different class to the gruff 4 pot, and a lot more free revving. I'm only getting 27-28 mpg combined, but it's worth it for the torque that's on tap. B-road performance (above 40mph!) and motorway driving are fantastic.
Haven't towed yet but 1st seems very low. as if only for towing, and I think it'll be a breeze.
Spring and damper settings are better than my old one too, and the rides even better now when I've let the tyres down from the 45psi they came from the dealer with......If you don't do much town driving the V6 is way better than the 4 cylinder.
