Just out curiousity, any know max speed for using 4wd system? I know the QQ Nissan one would disengage automatically at a fix speed. Do many people use it on the tarmac? Or is it not designed for that?

It isn't designed for using on sealed surfaces, including tarmac.

An exception would be for snow covered roads, not slushy snow though.

I seem to remember the maximum speed recommended on non sealed surfaces is 62.

Service manual for d40 states not to use on tarmac and not to use over 100k/h. Don't know if yours is the same though. I have used mine on tarmac by mistake and I would here it rattle when I reached 100.
