Driving home from work tonight and had been giving it a pretty hard time when all of a sudden I got limp and the engine management light on, was doing about 90 (km/hr obviously) on the dual carriageway, switched off and on again without stopping and got power back but the light was still on. Fired up Torque app and it came up with p2479. Web sesrch comes up with exhaust gas temp fault which probably ties in with my driving style!! Light was still on after my 15 min pit stop to get showered and changed so cleared it with Torque App and so far so good.
Any one else had 2479 before? :cheers2:

I remember reading about a problem with exhaust temp sensors previously and iirc there was an issue with them being faulty! And I think they weren't available separately and had to come with the turbo!

Aye Hamis, not the same code but the EGT sensor has caused problems before on the 190, viewtopic.php?f=14&t=87497&p=890065#p890065

I didn't know they had an egt sensor. That saves me having to cut a 1/4 bsp thread into the manifold to fit my separate gauge :) I can just add that gauge to the display on torque.
Bad news, your 08 will nit have the sensor, so you will have to get the drill oot. :nailbiting

Mine used to do it after using cheap supermarket fuel (Sainsburys), stopped using that and it stopped going into limp mode, hasn't done it for the last 20k miles! Only did it on the motorway though.

Generally I don't fully trust a fault code as it's often just be a glitch
I make a note of it and clear it! Then if it comes on again I look into it properly

ok, well I will go after the turbo, so none of the swarf goes through the vanes. I take it there isn't already a 1/4" bsp tapped hole there....
