hi guys new to the site although am a regular on other forums and this is an excellent forum with plenty of advice being given anyway im looking to buy a nav to use as a car my car isnt big enough with the new addition to the family i have own painting buisness but im not vat reg so cant claim vat back i have seen a nav aventura 56 plate manual in black 2 owners from new it is up for 8995 with no vat screen price 9495 its in a garage but im concerned as its done 139k it is the spec and colour i want and the missus like it too is the price around right? and shud i be put off if it has fsh with that mileage thanks for any info dave

Hi and welcome

If it's been looked after properly, serviced regularly etc, 139k shouldn't be a problem, but i have to be honest i would never buy any vehicle with that kind of milage especially for the best part of ÂŁ10k, is the seller giving any kind of warranty?

i think it is just the standard 3 month warrenty but i wud purchase anotha warrenty just to make sure and abit of peace of mind too. i have seen a few others in black with less miles around the same price but they are autos and dont really want an auto.
and the vat is a bugger for me it just makes a couple of nice navs out of reach when the vat is put on im goin to have a look at a few this weekend see what i get offered for my current motor

Welcome to the site :thumbleft:

It's tricky i suppose, modern engines should easily last 250k or if properly looked after so in theory if it has a dealer fsh then you should have no problems. At least you know its had all the recall work done, and is fairly reliable as its made it to that mileage.....

On the other hand if you havent got the spare wonga to throw at it when things start to wear out then high mileage vehicles can be a risk.

The price doesnt seem to bad, for comparison I paid last year ÂŁ12.5k (no vat) for an 06 aventura with 51k on it.

I suppose if you can get it looked over by someone and it seems sound, go for it

i have since seen another one which is 55 reg aventura 88000 miles 1 previous owner he was a company director its a manual but its caymen blue in colour i did want black and the garage are asking 9495+vat but he said he is open to a deal as the back bumper has had a slight knock not very noticible so the man says so im hoping to go an see it on sunday
the milage did bother me but i did buy a transit van 4 years ago that had full history one owner and that has been superb and it has done 189k but just bothered if the navara goes it mite be expensive

buying a 2007 outlaw few 3000 not stolen not crashed checked out ok on car checker buying through yahoo finance so even once i get it and dont like it it wont cost me a penny any advive
First thing i would say mate is it's a scam, be very very carefull, have you got any other info about this deal, as it sounds way too good to be true, and usually if something sounds too good to be true, it usually is

Seriously mate just because car checker says it's ok doesn't mean a thing, you need to physicaly check that the V5 is genuine, and that the vehicle is not cloned, lots of people have been caught out this way even after doing checks. Give it a miss mate
