Evening all,

I've been looking at Navaras for some time now and a few hours ago I went to view one that was being sold on behalf of someone else who sadly is too ill to drive it anymore. It's a D22 2005 double cab, fsh (not nissan though the book has been stamped), new mot and 59k on the clock. It's up for 4.5 - 5k and is fairly immaculate.

However, I am nervous re the engine going bang at some stage...

I was told that the warranty has been extended on these vehicles to 90k, though does that stand if the motor has changed hands a few time?

There isn't a truck cab on it, are they fairly easy to obtain second hand?

Do you guys think this is a fair price? Is there anything else I should consider before taking the plunge?

Thanks
Gavin

 Yeah i've got to be honest that bit concerns me too

Gavin, if you fancy the truck mate, make the guy a sensible offer, bearing in mind the cost of doing the engine mod, which will give you a reliable truck at the right price.

There is a lot of info regarding the mod, and also companies that could do it for you if you're not keen on doing it yourself, you can find all the help and info you need in the D22 section.

Btw, please elaborate on the missing cab?

On Wednesday eve I went and took the truck for a test drive... it's first class! However, the lowest price I can get it for is 5k. Nearly a grand for the modification and a couple of hundred for a canopy and we're talking over 6k. So... two questions:

Do all d22 engines go bang? If I didn't get the mod done I save a lot of cash!

If I saved a couple of grand more I would be in 06 plate D40 territory - though possibly a higher mileage vehicle than the d22 I'm looking at. Would you save the extra few grand and look to buy a D40.

Thanks
Gavin
