Hi All,
R1 R2 service what does it mean?
I want to do a full service but I need to know what the stealer has done and just to know.

A list of each would be good.

Thanks Mattie :clown:

The R2 is the bigger service and so is more expensive

What goes into it to make it so expensive?

The R1 is a very basic first service, oil and filter change, lubrication, basic checks etc, R2 all oils and filters changed, gearbox oil, fuel filter, pollen filters and general checks and advisories, the R2 is a more in depth service where more or less the whole truck will be given attention

That's more of what I was after many thanks..

To be honnest there are several diffrent service schedules for the D40, the one the dealers use, the one in the book and auto data all seem to differ slightly on what gets doen at R1 and R2
As far as i know officialy everything should be done at both with the exeption of the coolent and break fluid change alternating (coolant on R1 and break fluid on R2)
But it really depends what info you go on, personally there seems little point in changing the gearbox, diff and transfer oil every 18k most vehicles these never need to be changed and most dealers dont do it anyway

What should be done on services:
R1 done @ 18k/24months: Engine oil and filter, Fuel Filter, Pollen Filters(2), Brake Fluid change
R2 done @ 36k/48months: As R1 plus Air filter and LSD oil change.
Then antifreeze replaced @ 60k/60months then every 36k/36months thereafter.

Everything else on any service is just "inspect and repair/replace if necessary"

However, what your dealer ACTUALLY does is another matter.

That's what I was thinking as I have owned my D40 for a year almost (just got a 13 month MOT) & dont belive things have been done the way they should
